This Privacy Policy explains how Black Flame Digital Ltd ("we", "us"), the company behind Combust Media (the "app" and the website at combust.media), collects and uses your information.
Combust Media is a player for media playlists that you provide. We do not host, provide, or control any channels, streams, or media content.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and, optionally, a display name. Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase.
Content you add. We store the playlists you add (their names and either the source URL you enter or the playlist file you upload), along with your favourites and folders, so they sync across your devices. We do not store or host the media those playlists point to.
Custom Modes. If you add or create a Custom Mode, we store its encrypted descriptor and related metadata. When you open a Custom Mode, requests are sent to that mode's server (which may be operated by an independent third-party developer) using a token contained in the descriptor.
Subscription information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details; we store your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
Contact requests. If you contact us through the website form or by email, we receive your name, email address, and message (delivered via Postmark).
Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used (e.g. pages visited, general device and country information). Analytics data is aggregated and used to improve the service.

Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the service:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
- Stripe — subscription payments
- Postmark — transactional and contact emails
- Google Analytics — website usage analytics
- Independent Custom Mode developers — only when you use their mode, and only via the request tokens in that mode's descriptor
Cookies
The website uses cookies required for sign-in, and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time by deleting your account or by contacting us; on account deletion we remove your associated playlists, favourites, folders, and mode records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK GDPR / GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@combust.media.
Children
Combust Media is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
